CarChecker3000 ("we", "the app") helps you find, compare, evaluate, and check the financing of used cars. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who processes it.

What we collect

• An anonymous account — on first launch the app creates a random, anonymous account so it can save your work and apply free-usage limits. It is not tied to your identity.
• Email & sign-in identity — only if you choose to sign in (magic link, Apple, or Google) to keep your saved cars across devices. We store your email and the provider id.
• Things you save — cars and comparisons you explicitly save, tied to your account.
• What you submit for analysis — vehicle details, ZIP, loan terms you enter, and photos/screenshots or VINs you choose to scan.
• Usage counts — how many free checks you've used, to enforce limits. No advertising or cross-app tracking.

Photos, screenshots & VINs

Images you scan (a loan offer or a car listing) are sent once to our AI provider to read the details, then discarded — we do not store your images. A VIN you enter is used to look up the vehicle and is not used to identify you.

Who processes your data

• Supabase — database, authentication, and email delivery (our backend).
• Anthropic (Claude) — reads scanned images and answers vehicle/price queries. Inputs are processed to generate results; images are not retained by us.
• U.S. government data — NHTSA (recalls, safety, VIN decode) and fueleconomy.gov (MPG/specs) for vehicle facts.
• Resend — sends sign-in (magic link) emails.
• Apple / Google — only if you choose to sign in with them.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your personal information.
• We don't run a credit check or share your data with lenders or dealers.
• We don't use third-party advertising or cross-app trackers.

Your choices

• You can use the app anonymously without signing in.
• You can delete saved items in the app, and you can request deletion of your account and data by emailing us.
• Sign out at any time from the Saved screen.

Children

CarChecker3000 is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
